On Selected Surveys into the Knowledge of Czech

Surves into selected areas of contemporary Czech language (filling correct prepositions, formulating elementary math tasks, telling the time, etc.) that were made among students of Czech –native speakers – proved considerable plurality of expression. This outcome, however, cannot be welcome and evaluated as positive. It rather shows that the plurality is the problem of random or non-systematic selection. The survey outcomes are in accordance with problematic, sometimes even alarming findings from extensive researches that prove unsatisfactory level of the knowledge of Czech as well poor communicative competence of the future teachers of Czech.
