Autorship

Authorship Policy

  1. Purpose

The inclusion of authors' names in a publication is an essential mechanism for recognizing individuals who have made a substantial intellectual contribution to the work.

This policy ensures transparency and accountability for the integrity of the published content, clearly defining the roles and responsibilities of authors.

  1. Guidelines for Authorship

Individuals listed as authors must:

  • Have made a significant intellectual contribution to the conception, design, execution, or analysis of the research.
  • Have participated in drafting, revising, or critically reviewing the manuscript for intellectual content.
  • Have agreed to submit the paper to the journal and reviewed all versions at every stage of the process.
  • Take collective responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the paper.

Contributions that do not meet the above criteria (e.g., technical editing, proofreading, administrative support, or general supervision) should be acknowledged in the paper’s acknowledgment section, not as authors.

For manuscripts with large author groups, the group must identify individuals (corresponding author) responsible for the manuscript. These individuals must meet the authorship criteria, and all qualifying contributors should be listed as authors.

Corresponding Author Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate consensus among co-authors on all aspects of the paper, including authorship order and affiliation accuracy.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with the journal during submission, review, and post-publication.
  • Ensure that any changes to the authorship list are agreed upon by all authors and provide a detailed explanation for such changes.

Authorship Changes:

  • Requests for additions, removals, or reordering of authors must be justified and agreed upon by all co-authors.
  • Significant changes after acceptance may be rejected unless a compelling justification is provided.
  1. Author Identification and Transparency

To improve transparency and attribution:

  • ORCID-iD Requirement: Corresponding authors must provide their ORCID-iD during submission, which will be published as part of the manuscript metadata. Co-authors are strongly encouraged to link their ORCID-iD to their accounts.
  • Authors must list all affiliations relevant to the research. If an author has changed institutions, the affiliation where the work was conducted should be listed, with the current affiliation noted in the acknowledgment section.
  • Authors should use institutional email addresses whenever possible, and the journal may require verification of affiliations, such as institutional confirmation or profile links.

To maintain transparency, the editors may delay review until identity, affiliation, or authorship information is complete.

  1. Author Responsibilities and Accountability

By submitting a manuscript, the corresponding author certifies that:

  • The manuscript is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
  • All listed authors meet the journal’s authorship criteria.
  • The content does not infringe copyright, is not defamatory, and adheres to ethical standards outlined in the journal's Publication Ethics policy.
  • Proper diligence has been exercised to ensure the accuracy and quality of the research.

The corresponding author may be asked to specify each co-author's contributions, especially for submissions with more than three authors.

Editors recommend limiting the number of authors unless justified by the complexity of the research. Contributors not meeting the authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately.

  1. Editorial Oversight of Authorship

Editors will assess submissions for adherence to the Authorship Policy. Submissions may be dismissed if doubts regarding authorship, identity, or affiliation are not resolved satisfactorily.

The editor shall inquire about identity, affiliation, or authorship in cases such as:

  • ORCID-iD is not provided.
  • Authors use non-institutional email addresses.
  • Affiliation details are incomplete or unverifiable.
  • Submissions include more than three co-authors.

Additional inquiries may be made at the discretion of the Editor-in-Chief if necessary.

Manuscripts will not proceed to the review stage until identity, affiliation, and authorship information is verified.
