Abstract

The aim of this review article is to analyse the impact of digital media on children's early development, especially in preschool and younger school age. Research shows that overexposure to media affects cognitive function, emotional regulation, and social interaction. Over-stimulation of the dopaminergic system may contribute to attention disorders, impulsivity and reduced self-control. Chronic exposure to blue light from screens negatively affects the sleep cycle and disrupts neuroregenerative processes. The article also outlines the risks of cyber threats, social isolation and cognitive fragmentation. Based on current research, preventive strategies for regulating media use, promoting digital literacy, and developing healthy habits are suggested.
