Mathematics in pre-primary education in Slovakia and Germany (Bavaria)

In an effort to gradually improve the standard of Slovak education, it is essential to take into account the findings from international comparison in education. The authors comparatively analyse the content of pre-primary mathematical education in Slovakia and Germany (Bavaria) from the aspect of early mathematical literacy.They focus on the areas of early mathematical literacy that are included within the content and aims of mathematical education in the curricula for pre-primary education in both Slovakia and Bavaria,and on how these early literacy areas are further elaborated.
