Abstract

Dance education is currently an integral part of the curriculum document for primary schools. The aim of the research investigation was to describe and analyse pupils' views on the teaching of folk dances in physical education classes at the primary level of mainstream primary schools. Based on a deliberate selection, ten primary schools were involved in the research and a questionnaire survey was carried out. The data obtained showed that folk dancing was positively accepted by pupils of younger school age as a new form of physical activity.
