Abstract

Puberty is a significant milestone in the lives of primary school students and is associated with a number of biological, psychological, emotional and social changes. Pupils in the focus group are often still searching for appropriate names for these changes, and are thus struggling to build a coherent picture of the importance of puberty for their future lives, setting up relationships with those around them, whether it is openness in communication or awareness of the beginnings of their changing role in society. The importance of puberty and its conception in pre-pubertal children is related to the degree and adequacy of information that comes to them from safe and reliable sources. Our research was conducted within the framework of the Student Grant Competition of Palacký University in Olomouc (IGA_PdF_2021_013; Cognitive and informative level of knowledge about puberty in primary school pupils in Hungary; main investigator ldoc. PaedDr. Miluše Rašková, Ph.D.). The paper is a description of a questionnaire survey in which we focused on the conception of puberty among a group of primary school pupils in Hungary in relation to information sources.
